Campaign to raise awareness about Child Welfare impacting Indigenous Children in Canada

Background
- Special guests Nancy Rowe from New Credit First Nation and Isaac Murdoch from Serpent River First Nation spoke to the classes about the dire situation in Manitoba
- Students decides to make baby moccasins to send out west to the First Nations Family Advocate Office as a way of showing support
- Students also had an opportunity to listen to Manitoba Family Advocate Cora Morgan who phoned into the class on speaker phone to talk about the stark realities they are facing: 40 babies a month are being taken from hospital
- A special ceremony was held to acknowledge the babies being taken into CFS and to present the moccasins
- Students created a video campaign as well to help spread the message

Delivering the Moccasins
Colinda Clyne and Nancy Rowe flew out to Manitoba to deliver the baby moccasins. A beautiful ceremony was performed upon arrival of the moccasins.
